Roof Snow Raking & Ice Dam Treatments
Roof Raking
Are you experiencing Ice Dams on your roof? Large Icicles forming on edges of your roof? Leaking ceiling? This is result of melting of excessive snow on your roof, creating ice dams!
Roof Raking is process of pulling snow from your roof. On most roof raking, snow is removed about 4′ to 5′ up from edge of roof.
Roof raking helps eliminate the added ice build up that create ice dams on edge of the roof from the melting snow that accumulates up the roof. On top of helping control ice dam build up, removing snow will also alleviate all that added weight to your home.
Ice Dam Treatments
Ice Dams are build up of ice from melting snow from the roof. Eventually this water will back up as the dam becomes larger, backing up water under your shingles, and dripping into your interior, ceilings, electrical, etc. causing even greater damage.
We currently provide a cheaper, effective treatment method of ice dam control, using Salt Ropes to channel water off roof.
Prepare area by removing snow, chop down dam so it’s flatter, and place salt ropes vertical every 4′ to channel water down and off roof. In combination with sun, the salt run off will help actually melt down dam itself. In some severe cases with very thick dams, ie in valleys, we cut and or chop sections out to thin out dam for easier salt rope placement.
